Recurring Tasks are a great way of managing regular or routine tasks in Task Pigeon. With recurring tasks, you can have a task be created on a recurring schedule that suits you. For example, you can recreate a task on a:
- Or a yearly basis
As a result recurring tasks are ideally suited to:
- Instances where you need a team member to complete a regular report
- Creating a daily or weekly checklist of tasks that need to be completed at the start or end of each day
- Using tasks as reminders to follow up on a particular activity each fortnight or month
Creating Recurring Tasks
Both general text-based tasks and checklist tasks can be set to be created on a recurring basis. If you haven’t done so already you should check out the Getting Started With Task Pigeon Series on creating tasks and checklists to have an understanding of how that process works.
After you have the basis of your task created you then simply need to check the “Mark as Recurring Task” checkbox. This will then open up additional fields where you can select the schedule you want to use.
Note: If you want to create a fortnightly recurring task you need to select the weekly option and then change it to ever 2 weeks.
Creating Recurring Checklist Tasks
As mentioned above the recurring feature also applies to checklists. This makes using the recurring task option in conjunction with a checklist ideally suited to those daily or weekly tasks that are highly repetitive.
For example each Monday you may have a regular list of tasks you need to complete before you get on with the rest of your workday. Using Task Pigeon’s recurring task feature with a checklist-style task can help you track and manage this work.
Creating Private Recurring Tasks
You may have seen in one of our other Getting Started With Task Pigeon features that you have the ability to create private tasks in Task Pigeon. Private tasks restrict who can see and interact with a task to only the people you choose to assign that task to.
You can also turn private tasks into a recurring task by marking the “Mark as Recurring Task” checkbox and following the remaining steps.
